Product pages are designed to sell. They show the best angles, the best lighting, the most flattering descriptions. Ours do the same.
So here's the other side — the things a product page won't tell you, because product pages aren't built for nuance. Consider this our honest addendum.
Open-Ear Means Open
OF HUNGER uses open-ear air conduction. Your ear canal stays unblocked. This is a design feature, but it comes with honest trade-offs.
You will hear the world. That's the point — but it also means you won't get the sealed, immersive listening experience of an in-ear earbud. In a noisy subway car, your music competes with the environment rather than replacing it.
Sound leaks outward. At moderate-to-high volume, the person sitting next to you in a quiet room can hear a faint trace of what you're listening to. At low volume, it's negligible. But it's real.
Calls work — in the right environment. Open ear earbuds for calls are clear in everyday settings: offices, streets, cafés. In genuinely loud environments, call quality degrades. If you need crystal-clear calls in chaotic settings, a dedicated headset will serve you better.
Bass is different. Without a sealed chamber, low-end frequencies are naturally lighter. Our tuning prioritizes spatial, natural sound. It's not the thumping bass of sealed earbuds. It's a different listening character — and whether you prefer it is genuinely personal.
Fit Is Individual
Our clip-on mechanism works for most ear shapes, but ears vary more than people realize. Some wearers find the fit immediately natural. Others need ten minutes of adjustment. A small number may find that their particular ear anatomy doesn't hold the clip securely.
We can't promise universal comfort because universal comfort doesn't exist for anything that clips onto a body part as variable as an ear.
What We're Not
We're not an audiophile brand. OF HUNGER earbuds won't outperform studio monitors or high-end noise-cancelling headphones in an open ear earbuds comparison. That's not the competition we're in.
We're not a luxury jewelry house. The 18K white gold is a plating, not a solid metal. The gemstones are naming inspirations, not embedded stones.
We're not a sport earphone. Intense exercise, heavy perspiration, and vigorous movement are outside our design parameters.
Why We're Telling You This
Because trust is earned through consistent behavior, not confident messaging. A brand that tells you everything is perfect is a brand that doesn't respect your intelligence.
We'd rather you buy OF HUNGER knowing exactly what it is — and love it for what it is — than buy it expecting something it isn't and feel disappointed.
That's the difference between a product and a relationship. We're building the second one.
