Do not treat OF HUNGER earphones as waterproof. NEBULA has an IPX5 splash-resistance rating, with stated limits on use. Electronic Gems has no confirmed waterproof or sweatproof rating. Those are different product descriptions, not interchangeable versions of the same promise.
For both collections, keep the earphones out of showers, swimming, heavy rain and high-sweat training. Their role as visible everyday accessories does not turn them into equipment for every wet environment.
NEBULA: read beyond the rating
NEBULA's splash-resistance statement should be read with its care guidance. The product is not waterproof and is not intended for the wet or high-sweat situations listed above. A short rating on a specification sheet does not override those instructions.
Do not extend the earphone rating to the charging case. A case that receives earphones for charging should not be treated as a waterproof storage container simply because the earphones have a listed resistance level.
Electronic Gems: do not borrow another collection's claim
Electronic Gems does not have a confirmed waterproof or sweatproof rating. Similar branding, an open-ear design or a case in the box does not justify copying NEBULA's IPX5 specification onto it.
If resistance to water or heavy sweat is central to why you need earphones, choose by a product's documented suitability for that use. Do not rely on a photograph of casual outdoor wear to answer the question.
Keep moisture away from charging
The care guidance for both collections calls for keeping liquid away from the charging contacts and wiping the product dry after use. Do not put wet earphones into the case and continue charging as though nothing happened.
If liquid has entered the product or its behavior changes, stop using or charging it and ask support for guidance. Surface wiping is not proof that internal moisture is gone. Avoid improvised repair steps or taking the product apart.
Plan for ordinary changes in the day
If the weather turns wet, put the earphones away in a dry place rather than treating the rain as an opportunity to test their limits. If you are changing from everyday listening to a sweaty workout, change the equipment as well.
Also read the US warranty terms before assuming liquid damage will be covered. The useful purchase question is whether the documented limits fit your routine. If they do, review the collection's care details and keep those limits part of how you use the product.
