ENC Is Not ANC: What Electronic Gems Does with Background Noise

Call processing and listening isolation solve different problems. Electronic Gems offers dual-microphone ENC but keeps the ear open to the surrounding room.

Electronic Gems has dual-microphone ENC for calls. It does not have active noise cancellation for listening. If you are searching for Electronic Gems noise cancellation, that distinction should come before any decision about color or style.

The two terms refer to different sides of a conversation. One concerns the sound captured for the person on the other end. The other concerns the environment you hear while wearing the earphones.

What the other person hears

ENC is the call-related feature described for Electronic Gems. It supports voice clarity through the microphone system. Its presence does not establish that every call will be clear in every environment.

Background sound, how you speak and whether the microphone area is obstructed can affect the result. Wearing the correct left and right earphones and keeping the relevant openings clear are practical checks. They are not a substitute for understanding the setting where you intend to make calls.

We do not have a published result that would justify promising wind-free calls, quiet speech on a noisy train or professional meeting performance across every platform. A feature name alone cannot provide that evidence.

What you hear

Electronic Gems leaves the ear canal open. It does not create the seal associated with an in-ear earbud, and the call-processing feature does not switch off the room around you. You may still hear nearby conversation or other environmental sound alongside your audio.

If your main goal is to reduce surrounding noise while listening, ENC is not the specification to choose by. Raising playback volume to compete with a loud room also does not create isolation; sound leakage may become more noticeable to other people.

Put the purchase question into a sentence

Try finishing one of these statements before comparing products:

  • I want my earphones to reduce the background noise I hear while listening.
  • I want a visible ear accessory for everyday audio and occasional calls.

The first describes a need Electronic Gems does not meet through active noise cancellation. The second is closer to its intended role, provided its fit and open-ear listening suit you.

You may have both needs at different times. That does not mean one pair must handle them equally well.

Read the sound and call details together

On the product page, check the listening description as well as the microphone specification. They explain different functions. Choosing with both in view is more useful than treating the letters ENC as a general promise of silence, privacy or uninterrupted concentration.
