The OF HUNGER app's location function for Electronic Gems uses the phone's GPS-linked location. The earphones do not contain independent GPS. That distinction sets an important limit on what the feature can tell you if a pair is missing.
A location associated with a previous connection can be useful. It should not be read as proof that the earphones are still there or as a live report from the earphones themselves.
Read a saved location as a starting point
If the app shows a last known location, consider when that information was recorded and what it represents. It can help you retrace a part of the day, but it does not establish every movement the earphones may have made afterward.
The phone's location and the earphones' current physical location are different things once they are apart. A map display does not remove that distinction, even when it looks precise.
Think back through where you last put the pair away, handled the case or changed what you were carrying. Use the app information alongside those ordinary observations rather than replacing them.
Do not assume a tracking network
Electronic Gems should not be described as containing a standalone GPS tracker. The feature also should not be confused with a claim of Apple Find My certification or a worldwide network of other people's devices locating the product.
If the earphones are disconnected or out of power, do not assume they can independently send a fresh position. The documented phone-linked function does not justify that promise.
The app can therefore be relevant to finding a misplaced pair without guaranteeing that a lost or moved pair will be recovered.
Keep storage part of prevention
Return the earphones to their case when you are not wearing them, and choose a consistent place for the case in a bag or on a table. That is a practical habit, not a replacement for the app or a guarantee against loss.
Before buying because of a locating feature, read exactly how it is described. If independent tracking is essential to your purchase, Electronic Gems' phone-linked location should not be treated as equivalent. Review the app capabilities with that distinction in mind, then decide whether they meet your needs.
