SUPERSTAR! A Temporary Universe at Hangzhou MIXC

The SUPERSTAR! pop-up at Hangzhou MIXC turns the OF HUNGER world into a room. A pale, symmetrical interior is organized around illuminated shelves, a central display and a monumental head suspended overhead. Red eyes puncture the otherwise restrained palette. The official invitation asks visitors to step into a new universe of electronic-body fashion, and the space is designed less like a conventional shop than a temporary station for that encounter.

Scale changes the meaning of the objects. Ear-worn forms that appear intimate in portraits become part of an architectural system of light, circulation and display. Products are given distance instead of crowded together, allowing each one to read like an instrument or recovered specimen. The giant face above the room introduces a watchful presence, while the open glass edge keeps the installation connected to the city and to the people passing outside.

The campaign’s central line—every visitor is a SUPERSTAR of this era—shifts attention back to the body entering the space. The pop-up is not complete until someone walks through it, tries a form and sees their own silhouette inside the environment. Radical technology and style are translated into an experience with a threshold, a route and a stage. Hangzhou becomes one coordinate in the OF HUNGER universe, temporarily activated by everyone who chooses to enter.
